About 14 tons of fodder of unknown origin, intended for non-productive animals, was detained in the Pskov region. This was reported by the press service of the North-West Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor on Wednesday, February 5.

The cargo was traveling from Belarus through the checkpoint in the village of Lobok, located on the Russian-Belarusian border in the Nevelsky municipal district. The products did not pass veterinary control: there were no accompanying documents confirming their safety and origin.

In addition, the movement of goods took place during the period of temporary restrictions on the supply of feed for non-productive animals, produced in Italy and France, to Russia. The cargo was returned to Belarus.

As Pskov newswire notes, certification of all FMD susceptible animals and products from them, moving from the European Union to the Russian Federation, including the transit of such goods through the Russian territory, has also been suspended since January 20, 2025. These measures are related to the situation with FMD in Germany.
