The first deliveries of Tu-214 airplanes are scheduled for this year. This was announced by Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov during the NAIS civil aviation infrastructure exhibition on February 5.

He noted that Russia has a task to completely replace imported components for Superjet, Tu-214 and IL-76, as well as to develop new airplanes based on domestic technologies.

"This year the first Tu-214s will be delivered within the framework of those plans approved in the comprehensive program," the minister said.

In addition, Alikhanov announced the intention to start deliveries of MC-21 aircraft for Russian airlines in 2026.

The NAIS-2025 exhibition takes place on February 5 and 6 at Crocus Expo in Moscow. Leading holdings of the state corporation are taking part in the event, they will discuss the issues of creating a pool of replacement engines, service maintenance and increasing modern repair capacities.

Earlier, on January 24, Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, said that serial production of MC-21 may start in 2026. According to him, this year it is necessary to complete certification tests of the aircraft.

Before that, on December 5, 2024, it became known that the Ministry of Industry and Trade reduced the number of aircraft engines for promising SSJ-100, MS-21 and Tu-214, which will be produced in Russia until 2026. Production plans have shifted to the right, and aircraft manufacturers will receive 128 power units instead of 192 planned in the program for the development of the aviation industry until 2030.

On November 20, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the MS-21 is expected to begin deliveries to airlines in 2025. Chemezov also confirmed plans to start serial production of the MS-21 next year in October.
