Sobyanin instructed to continue modernization of Moscow firefighting service
Modernization of the firefighting and water rescue services remains a priority in the work of the Moscow government. The mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin has instructed to continue updating in this sphere, as reported on his official website.
About 18 thousand people work in the fire and rescue garrison of the city. These are high-class specialists, trained to resist fire, search and rescue of people from heights, on water bodies and natural areas.
In addition, a consolidated mobile grouping has been created, which includes squads of specialists from engineering and municipal enterprises of the city economy, capable of responding on an equal footing with professional firefighters and rescuers to any incidents, including natural fires.
