An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred off the coast of North Maluku in Indonesia. This was reported by Reuters on February 5.

Earlier, on January 31, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred in Ecuador. It is noted that the epicenter of the seismic event was located 70 km northeast of the city of Ambato with a population of about 154 thousand people. The source lay at a depth of 10 km.
