The son of US President Donald Trump Jr. had a permit to hunt in the Venetian Lagoon, which he was granted by the authorities of the Veneto region in Italy. This was reported by the newspaper Corriere del Veneto on February 4, citing the hunting and fishing advisor Cristiano Corazzari.

"We have issued a permit," he explained.

It is reported that the authorities of the region received an application for a license for the 2024 and 2025 hunting season, for which foreign citizens are eligible upon submission of a number of documents.

The publication points out that for Trump Jr. the entire process for an official hunting license has been followed. It includes the provision of an ID card, a home country hunting permit translated into Italian, a European firearms permit, an insurance policy in Italian, proof of payment of €84 and an invitation from the host country.

Earlier, on February 3, the media suspected Trump Jr. of duck hunting in a protected area in Italy. In addition, according to Andrea Zanoni, a member of the Green Europe Party, the footage showing hunting scenes was filmed in a protected area, which is a protected zone.
