Russian ambassador to Egypt assessed the impact of sanctions on the El Dabaa NPP project

The construction of the El Dabaa nuclear power plant is proceeding strictly according to schedule, Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko told Izvestia.

"Now all four future power units are already under construction. Moreover, Russia is actively producing the equipment that will be installed at the plant - its importation to the construction site and installation has already begun. <...> To some extent, Western sanctions have a negative impact on construction, including sanctions against Rosatom and its affiliated companies, which are also involved in construction. However, we manage to overcome all these difficulties related to sanctions," the ambassador emphasized.

The El Dabaa NPP should be fully operational by spring 2030.
