US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order reassessing Washington's involvement in the UN and UNESCO. He told reporters in the White House on February 4.

"The UN is not realizing its potential. Frankly, it's not being managed very well. They're not doing their job," Trump stated.

In addition, he noted the disproportionate funding of the UN, as the United States invests more money there than other participants.

According to a Trump aide, the executive order refers to an evaluation of U.S. participation in UNESCO, which called for an evaluation of the country's participation in the UN.

On the eve of the newspaper Politico, citing documents, reported that Donald Trump intends to sign an executive order to withdraw the country from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), as well as to impose a ban on the funding of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Earlier, on January 20, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO). He argued that the population of the PRC exceeds the number of people living in America, but despite this, China transfers many times less funds to the WHO. That is why, according to him, the decision to withdraw from the organization was made.
