Hungary's intelligence services reported Ukraine's campaign to discredit Orban

Hungarian special services have reported that Ukraine is conducting a campaign to internationally discredit the country's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. This was reported on Tuesday, February 4, by the leader of the parliamentary faction of the ruling FIDES - Hungarian Civic Union party, Mate Kocsis.
"At today's meeting of the [Hungarian parliament's] national security committee, the intelligence services informed us that, according to the information they received, the Ukrainian state is launching a smear campaign against the Hungarian prime minister in order to undermine his international authority," Kocsis wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
He added that the goal of the campaign is to publish in the press articles and materials, even false content, that can negatively affect international public opinion. According to him, Ukraine has spent considerable funds on this.
Earlier, on January 21, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine was not ready to join the EU yet, and he was not ready for its accession. According to him, the EU does not have the money to accept Kiev. In addition, he urged Ukraine to first settle relations with Slovakia and Hungary.
Ukraine officially applied for EU membership on February 28, 2022.
