- NHL player calls decision on Russia's non-participation in the Four Nations Tournament stupid

One of the participants of the upcoming Four Nations Tournament called the decision of the National Hockey League (NHL) not to allow the Russian national team to participate stupid. This was reported by The Athletic on February 4.
"I would rather go back to my homeland. I'd rather have a two-week break. It sucks that you miss a two-week break, but it's cool that you're playing against the best hockey players. Except they won't let the Russians in there. That's stupid. They are the best players right now," the publication quotes the player's words.
It is known that the competition, which will be held from February 13 to 21, 2025 in Montreal and Boston, will be attended by the national teams of the United States, Canada, Sweden and Finland.
On the same day it was reported that the Executive Committee of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided not to allow the Russian national team to the World Championship in 2026. It was noted that one of the arguments of the IIHF not to allow the team from Russia was the safety of participants.
