Reconstruction of the Drama Theater in Mariupol is more than half complete

Work on the reconstruction of the Drama Theater in the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), which was destroyed in 2022, is 65% complete. Images from the site of the work are published by Izvestia on February 4.
The builders have already fully completed the restoration of the brick walls of the building. Now they are going to work on the roof of the building, and after its completion they will move on to finishing.
According to Bogdan Volonenko, head of the Modul-Center LLC site, the workers are now engaged in the installation of metal structures of the roof. In addition, concrete works are not yet completed. Volonenko also emphasized that the dimensions of the new building will fully correspond to the volumes of the old one.
"In terms of percentage of the old building, 20 percent of the old building remains - it's historical appearance has been preserved. <...> The main part we have, of course, everything is new," he noted.
The opening of the theater is expected at the end of 2025.
Earlier, on February 3, in Mariupol approved new symbols of the city. According to Oleg Morgun, acting head of the city district, the color scheme of the coat of arms reflects the location of the city on the shore of the Sea of Azov and the historical features of its foundation. White color symbolizes metallurgy, which is one of the key sectors of Mariupol's economy.
Earlier, on December 27, 2024, Morgunannounced the delivery of more than 1 thousand apartment buildings after major repairs in Mariupol. According to him, the work in this direction will continue in 2025.
