Polish Interior Minister says Poland refuses to accept new migrants


Poland is not going to accept migrants and pay fines for it. This was stated by Interior Minister Tomasz Semoniak on February 4 on the air of Radio ZET.
"Our position is unambiguous - we are against the migration pact. <...>. We will not accept migrants, there will be no resettlement," he said.
Semoniak emphasized that Poland will also not pay fines for refusing to accept migrants. In addition, the head of the Interior Ministry of the Republic added that the crime rate in Poland is due to the influx of foreigners.
Earlier, January 5, it was reported that Polish law enforcers beat up and threw out a Senegalese at the border with Belarus at night. It was specified that the foreigner was in torn clothes, exhausted and emaciated. There were signs of frostbite on his fingers and toes.
Earlier, December 23, 2024, Belarusian border guards found four beaten refugees from Morocco and Egypt on the border with Poland. They were in an exhausted state, their faces and clothes were covered with blood.
Before that, May 14, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the country would not accept illegal migrants within the framework of the "migration pact" adopted by the Council of the European Union (EU). He emphasized that the republic voted against the "Migration Pact". The prime minister also noted that the previous Polish government had also negotiated the pact.
