The most popular makes and models of new cars in January have been named


In January 2025, 89,072 new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 11% more than in the same month of 2024. This was reported to "Izvestia" by the analytical agency "Avtostat".
The market leader remains domestic Lada, whose share in total sales has grown to 30% (a year ago it was less than 28%). In the first month of 2025, 27,538 new passenger cars of this brand were sold.
The second place and leadership among foreign cars belongs to the Chinese brand Haval, whose products sold 11,825 cars in January. Next are Chery (8959 units), Geely (6217 units), Changan (5081 units), Omoda (2327 units) and Jetour (2214 units). Belarusian brand Belgee with 1816 units is on the eighth line. Jaecoo and Tank round out the top ten: 1,781 and 1,672 units, respectively.
Among the leading car brands, three demonstrate negative dynamics: Geely (-30.9%), Omoda (-12.8%) and Tank (-3.5%). The other seven are "in the plus", and the best growth in January is shown by Belgee - 3.7 times due to the low base of the previous period.
Primacy among the models belongs to Lada Granta - cars of this model were sold in January in the amount of 11,422 units. This is 11.8% more than a year ago. The second position is occupied by Lada Vesta (8,007 units), the sales volume of which increased almost one and a half times.
The most popular foreign car in January remained the Chinese crossover Haval Jolion, which sold 4,139 copies (-4.7%). Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max crossover (4043 units, +23.2%) and Lada Niva Travel SUV (3101 units, -3.8%) also made it to the top five bestsellers on the Russian market.
Four of the ten most popular models show a decline in sales in January, with the Geely Monjaro crossover showing the strongest decline (-36.7% and eighth place). The greatest growth on a low comparative base showed the station wagon Lada Largus (30 times and tenth place).
On February 4, analysts "Auto.ru Evaluation" reported that the average price of a new car in January increased by 5.7% compared to December, to 3.94 million rubles. In 12 regions of Russia (Tatarstan, Moscow, Voronezh Region, etc.) the average price increased, while in 10 regions, such as Krasnoyarsk Krai, Ulyanovsk Region and Stavropol Krai, a decrease was recorded.
