A network of brothels was busted in Yakutsk and cities of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug

An interregional network of brothels was covered up in the cities of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Yakutia. Three people involved in the illegal business were detained, the press service of the regional department of the Interior Ministry reported on Tuesday, February 4.

Four brothels were organized in Surgut, one in Nyagan, two more in Yakutsk. The establishments worked under the signboard of massage parlors and were located in non-residential premises. Clients were provided with intimate services for money.

To catch those involved in illegal activities, the police of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug with the support of the regional Rosgvardiya raided all the brothels at the same time. As a result of a large-scale special operation 35 salon workers were brought to the department.

The alleged organizers were detained in Surgut, writes Ura.ru news agency. Led brothels 58-year-old man and 37-year-old woman. They also had a 33-year-old accomplice, who was engaged in the selection of girls.

At the places of residence of the organizers, in the brothels themselves and the main office of the network in Surgut were searched. Computers, phones, payment terminals, servers, erotic lingerie and accessories, proceeds and documents were seized.

Criminal cases were opened under article 240 part 1 ("Involvement in prostitution") and article 241 part 1 ("Organization of prostitution") of the Criminal Code of Russia. The investigation is continuing.
