Volunteer told about repeated fuel oil emissions in Anapa

Volunteers help in cleaning the coast of Anapa from oil products, but the sea constantly brings new fuel oil. Volunteer Aigul, who came from the village of Dzhubga, told Izvestia on February 4.

"We went out for lunch, came back, and the water brought new layers to the shore, and what we cleaned, we start cleaning anew. <...> After us, other [volunteers] will come and clean the same area," she explained.

Earlier in the day in the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region reported that repeated emissions of fuel oil recorded on 12 sites of beaches in Anapa. Petroleum products were found on the territory of Uspensky, Belorechensky, Mostovsky, Labinsky, Timashevsky, Pavlovsky, Apsheronsky, Abinsky, Starominsky, Slavyansky, Tikhoretsky districts and Krasnodar.

The tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. Two criminal cases were opened over the incident.
