The Irkutsk Oblast is on high alert mode

A high alert mode has been introduced for two days in the Irkutsk Region due to worsening weather conditions. Blizzards are expected in the region.

According to forecasts, the wind speed will increase to 15-20 m/s, on Lake Baikal gusts up to 40 m/s are possible. On the roads there will be snow with ice. This is reported by IA IrkutskMedia.

The Ministry of Housing Policy and Energy has been instructed to work on the creation of standard fuel reserves for uninterrupted operation of housing and utilities facilities. The Ministry of Transport and Roads has prepared forces and means to respond to the deterioration of the road situation.

Earlier, a high alert mode was introduced in Sakhalin Oblast due to snowfall.
