Two AFU fighters sentenced to 15 and 17 years for invading Kursk region

The Second Western District Military Court has sentenced two Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) servicemen, Yuriy Radchenko and Oleksandr Manko, to 17 and 15 years in prison, respectively, for invading the territory of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office on February 4.
"The court passed a sentence in the criminal case against servicemen of airborne assault battalions of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the armed formations of Ukraine Yuri Radchenko and Alexander Manko," the agency said in a statement on its website.
The militants were found guilty under paragraphs "a" and "c" of part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in grave consequences"). In court they said that they admit guilt.
It is established that Manko and Radchenko violated the sovereignty of the Russian Federation when they invaded Sujansky district in late August 2024. The Ukrainians were armed with assault rifles and carried explosive devices. The militants had set up observation and fire positions in forested areas to block and control settlements. In addition, the AFU soldiers built a reconnaissance and communication system between their points.
Minko and Radchenko took part in the mining of terrain and roads, shooting at the Russian military and civilians. They restricted civilians' freedom of movement and prevented them from evacuating.
Since the end of August 2024, the two Ukrainian militants have been held in custody. The court agreed with the position of the state prosecutor and sentenced Radchenko to 17 years in a strict regime colony with serving five years of this term in prison, and Minko - to 15 years in a colony of the same regime, five of which the militant will spend in prison.
Earlier, on January 14, the court sentenced seven AFU fighters to terms of 15 to 16 years in a high-security colony. According to the investigation, the Ukrainians invaded the Korenevsky district of Kursk Region in early August 2024 with assault rifles and other weapons, intimidated civilians and shot at both Russian military and civilians.
