Activist Greta Thunberg was charged with disobeying Swedish police

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg was charged with disobeying the police after participating in a protest in defense of Palestine in Stockholm. This was reported by Expressen newspaper on February 4, citing law enforcement authorities.
"According to the indictment, Thunberg shouted, made noise, banged on windows and did not listen to the police," the material said.
The organizers of the action, which took place on May 29, 2024 outside the Royal University of Technology in Stockholm, did not receive permission from the authorities to hold it. A total of 20 people took part in the demonstration.
According to the police, some demonstrators were wearing masks and shouting. It is specified that then almost all were arrested. Meanwhile, seven people, including Thunberg, have been charged with disobeying police officers.
Thunberg has previously made several statements in support of the Gaza Strip. Thus, on September 9, 2024, Thunberg reported that Swedish police removed her and several other demonstrators from a pro-Palestine rally at Stockholm University. It was specified that this was the second time that week that the police had confronted her.
In addition, in early May, police forcibly removed an activist from a pro-Palestinian demonstration in the Swedish city of Malmo. The activist called the actions of law enforcement against protesters against the violence in Gaza absurd.
Shortly after the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in late October 2023, Thunberg posted a photo on social networks with a poster on the theme of support for the Gaza Strip. In response, the Israeli Ministry of Education removed references to her from the curriculum.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip into Israel. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
