- Applications for the Alliance for Digital Child Protection's Safe Digital Childhood Award are now open.


The Alliance for Digital Childhood announces the start of the call for entries for the 2025 Safe Digital Childhood Award. The competition will be held for the third time and will continue to support projects aimed at promoting safe and responsible use of digital technologies by children. The Award is open to anyone involved in educating about digital literacy and children's online safety. Applications will be accepted from February 3 to March 3, 2025.
The award is organized in four categories: "Lessons in Internet Safety", "Family Digital Safety", "The Future of the Internet" and "The Best Expert Community Project". Teachers of secondary, specialized secondary and higher educational institutions working on educational projects on digital literacy can take part in the nomination "Safety Lessons on the Web". A special prize from the information and communication education platform Sferum is also available in the "Safety Lessons on the Web" nomination. The nomination "Family Digital Safety" will consider projects created by parents and other family members aimed at fostering safe communication skills on the Web. The "Future of the Internet" nomination is aimed at teenagers aged 10 to 18, who propose projects aimed at preventing and combating such challenges in the digital space as cyberbullying, digital addiction, destructive content and others. In turn, the Best Expert Community Project nomination will feature organizations that develop projects to protect children on the Internet.
"In the conditions of rapidly developing technologies, the task of providing a safe digital space for children is becoming especially urgent," notes Bella Cherkesova, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, "The Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment Award provides an important opportunity to support the best practices and initiatives aimed at protecting children and young people from digital threats. It is an important step towards creating a safe future for the younger generation."
Chair of the Alliance to Protect Children in the Digital Environment, Elizaveta Belyakova, added: "The competition is becoming an important indicator of growing awareness and activity on digital safety issues. Each project, each idea submitted by participants helps to create a more secure and fair digital space for children and adolescents."
To participate in the contest, participants must apply through the Alliance's official website. All materials, including the participant questionnaire, must be uploaded by March 3, 2025. The contest opens its doors to citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign participants whose activities are aimed at protecting children in the digital environment in Russia. The award is free and voluntary, and participation is open to both individual participants and collectives.
The results of the competition will be summarized in March 2025, and the winners will be awarded at the V Youth Digital Forum on April 2. For more information about the competition and to apply, visit the Alliance's official website.
