Case opened after AFU attack on school bus in Zaporizhzhya region

A criminal case has been opened after the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked a school bus in Zaporizhzhya Region. This was reported on Tuesday, February 4, in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the attack of the Armed forces of Ukraine with the use of a drone on a school bus in the Zaporozhye region," - stated in the message of the Department in the Telegram-channel.

It specified that in total in the vehicle were 20 children and a chaperone.

During the investigation, investigators will establish all the circumstances of the incident and a number of persons involved in the crime.

Earlier in the day, the head of Zaporizhzhya region Yevhen Balitsky reportedabout the AFU strike on the school bus. He specified that the driver of the vehicle was injured as a result of the incident, he was in serious condition, five children received shrapnel wounds.

Later, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova appealed to international organizations that specialize in the protection of children, asking them a question regarding their inclusion of "strategic silence".

The AFU has been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, on a daily basis amid a special operation to protect Donbas, which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
