In Udmurtia, seven confiscated cars were sent to the SSO


Bailiffs handed over the cars of violators confiscated by court order to representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense to be sent to the front. This is reported by the Russian State Automobile Inspectorate in its Telegram channel.
In Votkinsk, seven local residents were found guilty by the court of committing a crime under part 1 of article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Driving a vehicle in a state of intoxication by a person subjected to administrative punishment".
The offenders were sentenced to criminal punishment in the form of compulsory works with confiscation of vehicles.
The confiscated vehicles were sent to the needs of the SVO. Audi Q5, Gaz-31105, Hyundai Solaris, Opel Astra, VAZ-21093, Lada Priora and 4×4 went to the front.
Earlier it became known about the 20-fold increase in the number of cases when Russian courts ordered the confiscation of vehicles from drivers who were caught driving while intoxicated for the second time. This is evidenced by the statistics of the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
Thus, in the second half of 2022, the courts issued 238 decisions on confiscation of vehicles. In the first half of 2023 the number increased to 2,232 cases, and in the second half of the same year - to 5,112 decisions. In the first half of 2024, the courts ruled to confiscate 5176 vehicles.
In total, over the past two years, the courts ordered confiscation of vehicles for repeated drunk driving in 12.8 thousand cases. The Criminal Code introduced a measure in the form of confiscation of personal vehicles, even if they are jointly owned by husband and wife, in July 2022.
