Lawyers called Musk's job in the White House administration a nightmare

Lawyers consider the work of American billionaire Ilon Musk in the administration of US President Donald Trump a nightmare. This was reported by the newspaper Politico on February 4, citing sources.
According to the publication, lawyers believe that the first steps of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) violated the law on privacy, as well as laws on cybersecurity. It also prompted the lawsuit.
"The scale here is unprecedented in terms of risk to sensitive personal and financial information. It's a real nightmare," said Electronic Privacy Information Center spokesman Alan Butler.
It is specified that Musk's desire to take control of the most important federal agencies and functions and eliminate some of them has caused widespread alarm in Washington. In particular, experts are concerned about the decision to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and control the Treasury Department's central payment database.
Alex Joel, a full-time law professor at American University, called the closure of USAID "the most clearly unconstitutional act" by Musk, noting that the entrepreneur cannot destroy an entire agency.
The New York Times reported on February 2 that Scott Bessent, head of the U.S. Treasury Department, gave Musk's team access to the federal payment system to monitor and limit government spending. According to the interlocutors of the publication, access to the system, which processes data on payments worth more than $5 trillion a year, were given to employees of DOGE, the department already requires access to data from other agencies. It is noted that the system stores personal data of millions of citizens, which increases the risk of conflict of interest.
Prior to this, January 31, Reuters reported that Musk's aides, engaged in the conduct of work in the management of the U.S. personnel service, closed access to all databases with personal information for government employees. The systems, according to the publication's interlocutors, included databases containing information on employees' dates of birth, addresses, salaries and length of employment.
According to a Quinnipiac University poll, many Americans disapprove of Musk's active role in the Trump administration. Thus, 53% of respondents said that they do not support the active role of the entrepreneur in the American administration. At the same time, 39% of respondents expressed support for him.
