White House releases list of USAID's most "ridiculous spending sprees"

The White House has released a list of the most "ridiculous spending" by the Agency for International Development (USAID).
"For decades, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has been unaccountable to taxpayers as it has funneled vast sums of money to ridiculous - and, in many cases, malicious - pet projects of entrenched bureaucrats with little or no oversight," the publication stated.
According to the published list, among the "ridiculous spending" USAID mentions is the delivery of "hundreds of thousands of meals" to al-Qaeda fighters (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) in Syria, $70,000 to stage a musical in Ireland, and funding to print "personalized" contraceptives and birth control in developing countries.
In addition, the money was used to create irrigation canals and purchase fertilizers in Afghanistan, which are eventually used for drug production.
The day before, American billionaire Ilon Musk announced the launch of the process to liquidate USAID. The entrepreneur also said that the agency was beyond recovery and should be gotten rid of.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump called the heads of USAID radical madmen. In a conversation with journalists, he said that his administration will decide on the future of the agency.
On January 20, the White House website published Trump's executive order on suspending Washington's development aid to other countries for 90 days. Later, on January 25, Reuters reported that USAID froze programs to support foreign countries, including Ukraine, after a State Department dispatch approved by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
