On February 4, two red-eared turtles, which were found in a garbage container, were rescued in Moscow. The press service of the Russian Ecological Operator (REO) called this case animal cruelty.

"Such cases - a real bestiality, and for this there is responsibility from fines of 100 thousand rubles and up to imprisonment (Criminal Code Art 245). Unfortunately, this happens every month in all regions. Drivers of garbage trucks or employees of sorting centers find kittens, puppies and so on. We want to remind you that garbage containers are designed for solid municipal waste (MSW), not living organisms", - said in the REO "Izvestia".

Earlier, on January 10, in Nizhny Novgorod rescued a dog that had been sitting in a pipe for more than a week. It was reported that for several days rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, employees of the State Emergency Committee and volunteers tried to get the dog, which, presumably, frightened of fireworks, climbed into the pipe and got stuck.
