Residents of Khabarovsk Krai warned of heavy snowfall

Weather forecasters have warned of the cyclone approaching Khabarovsk Krai. Heavy snowfall is expected in the next 24 hours.

The first precipitation will fall in the east of the region on February 5. Intensification of snowfalls is expected on February 6 and 7. This is reported by IA AmurMedia. Wind speed will reach 18-23 m/s. The roads will be covered with snow.

Bad weather is expected in Khabarovsk, Amur, Komsomolsky, Vyazemsky, Nanai, Sovetsko-Gavansky, Ulchsky, Vaninsky, Nikolaevsky districts, as well as Lazo district. Local residents are warned about possible accidents at transportation, power supply and housing and utilities facilities. Communication lines are likely to break and weakly reinforced structures are likely to collapse.

In the Sakhalin region, operational services have been put on high alert due to snowfall. On the night of February 5, significant precipitation is expected with wind strengthening up to 25 m/s.
