"Fines have been raised by 50%, and, most importantly, now there is no discount of half the cost of the fine for its quick payment. Now it's 25%, but they gave additional time - 30 days instead of 20," the expert told Lenta.Ru.
According to Tarnovsky, an important addition, which has long been requested by both citizens and unions of motorists, was the possibility of registration without MTPL policies. It is also now possible to deregister the car immediately after the sale without any waiting.
He recalled that now the driver's license can also be presented electronically through the service "Gosuservices Auto".
"The legislator has not forgotten about the fans of authorized pseudotinting (nets, removable curtains and the like) - all this was prohibited from 2021, but now it will be paid attention to. Among the interesting innovations - seat belts must be in good working order. There should not be cuts on them, they should be fully stretched and fixed", - said the lawyer.
Earlier it became known that from January 1, 2025 fines for drivers for speeding 20-40 km / h will increase to 750 rubles, for driving in a drunken state - up to 45 thousand rubles, reports NSN.
Auto expert Dmitry Popov told RT that now the driver will not be allowed to "hold a cigarette, vape or other device for tobacco use, and also shawarma and everything else."
On December 26, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law to increase fines for a number of traffic violations. The law also introduces punishment for repeated driving without a MTPL policy. The fine for this violation will be from 3 thousand to 5 thousand rubles.
