Solaris cars will get a mobile app

AGR Group will equip Solaris cars produced in St. Petersburg with the "Digital Car" system with connected services. All cars of the Russian brand will receive it, according to a press release received by Izvestia on February 4.

"Digital Car" is a telematics unit installed in the car and a mobile application with a set of digital services. With the help of the new system, Solaris car owners will be able to start the engine, control the central locking and alarm system remotely from a smartphone. They will be able to receive information about the mileage, each trip, the car's location on the map, battery charge and fuel level.
In addition, with the help of the application it will be possible to sign up for a maintenance service, pay fines and travel along the Central Ring Road.

The AGR emphasizes that the Digital Car is a factory solution. Unlike similar aftermarket systems, it is initially fully integrated into the car that safety and usability.

Earlier it became known that Russian cars are planned to be equipped with domestic defense systems against cyberattacks. Cloud platform of cybersecurity for vehicles on the basis of the state information system "ERA-GLONASS" is planned to be launched in mid-January 2025.

JSC "Glonass" will launch the system jointly with FSUE "NAMI" and NPP "Gamma" with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Transport. The company's CEO Alexei Raikevich explained that the pilot project will help highlight the vulnerabilities of a modern car and show modern mechanisms to detect and combat cyber threats.
