Peskov said the EU economy is in a pre-crisis state because of defense spending

The European Union (EU) is close to a pre-crisis state due to increased defense spending. This was reported by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on February 4.
So he commented on the decision taken the day before by the European Commission to increase defense spending on the background of the alleged threat from the Russian Federation.
"On the one hand, already the increase in defense spending introduces the European economy into a very serious zone of discomfort, a pre-crisis state. It is clear that further increases in spending will have a very, very negative impact, will lead to further deterioration of economic affairs in Europe. It will affect every European," he said.
