"Avito to increase cybersecurity costs by one and a half times

"Avito" plans to increase spending on cybersecurity by 50% compared to 2024. This will help develop a system of constant risk monitoring, which will allow to quickly close vulnerabilities and minimize potential losses. It includes automated tools and manual checks and audits, the company's press service said.
According to Avito's head of information security Andrei Usenok, the market is increasingly interested in security programs, and payments to researchers are growing.
"For example, on one of the popular vulnerability search platforms, the average payment increased by 14% over the year, to 44 thousand rubles, and the number of programs from companies reached 98, almost doubling compared to 2023. "Against this background, Avito aims to provide the most attractive offer for researchers," he explained.
The company has increased the maximum award for critical vulnerabilities found in its products to 500 thousand rubles. This will allow to attract more external specialists to make Avito's services safer for users, especially taking into account the general growth of demand for such programs on the market, the company stressed.
The task of researchers - to find errors in the code that affect the security of services "Avito". For example, weaknesses that allow access to user data, payment information, important files or affect the stable operation of the site. The size of the reward is determined by dozens of criteria, including the bug's impact on business platforms, the complexity of fixing it, the breadth of the audience it can reach, and others.
