The visiting panel of the Second Eastern District Military Court in Zabaikalsky Krai sentenced to nine years in prison a young man who was an accomplice of a terrorist organization banned in Russia. This was reported by the regional department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia on February 4.

It is specified that the convict was born in 1997.

"It is established that the man in the period from 2020 to 2023 carried out on a regular basis money transfers to the accounts of militants for the purchase of weapons, vehicles, ammunition and propaganda of terrorist activities", - stated in the message of the department.

The attacker tried to involve residents of the region in the activities of the organization. The criminal's home was searched, law enforcers seized payment documents, means of communication and other materials that confirm that he violated the law.

The convicted person was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment in a special regime colony, the first three years of this term the young man will serve in prison. The sentence has not entered into legal force.

Earlier, January 29, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced 18-year-old resident of Kursk Garik Grigoryan (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) to seven years in a general regime colony for treason, preparation for a terrorist act and other crimes. In addition, he must pay a fine of 40 thousand rubles. At the time of detention, the young man was 17 years old.
