Indian PM Modi has been invited to meet Trump in Washington, DC


Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington next week. This is stated by the Bloomberg agency on February 3, citing a White House spokesman.
The politician, who was granted anonymity, did not provide additional details.
It is noted that Modi will be among the first foreign leaders to visit Trump as president in his second term.
Earlier, on January 27, the US President, during a telephone conversation with the Indian Prime Minister, pointed out the importance of increasing India's purchases of US military-industrial products. In addition, the two leaders discussed plans for Modi's visit to the White House.
Prior to that, on January 13, Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar said at a press conference during a visit to Spain that relations with the United States would develop also under the Donald Trump administration.
