The Polish authorities refuse to recognize several objects in the country as Russian property and claim them. This was reported by Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Poland Sergey Andreyev in a conversation withRIA Novosti.
"There are still several objects that the Polish side refuses to recognize as our property. What plans it has on their account, we do not know yet," he said in an interview.
At the moment, the agency does not specify which objects and at which addresses we are talking about.
In the middle of last year, the Russian Embassy in Warsaw received a note on restricting the movement of diplomats. The document of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Russian side should notify the Polish Foreign Ministry in advance of the intention of the employees of the Russian Embassy in Warsaw, as well as Russian consulates general in Gdansk, Krakow and Poznan to leave the province from June 1.
Before that, in November 2023, the Czech Republic proposed to ban the movement of Russian diplomats within the EU. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told Izvestia at the time that the initiative was unreasonable and that Budapest was against restrictions affecting diplomatic activity.
Western countries have increased sanctions pressure on Russia in connection with the special operation to protect Donbass. The decision to launch it was announced on February 24, 2022 amid the aggravation of the situation in the region.
