- The Russian Federation has started developing a system for controlling a swarm of drones on fiber optics

A group of designers from Stary Oskol is working on a control and recharging system for a swarm of drones. The project has been named "Cerberus". It includes a platform inside which six or 12 hangars for compact unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) connected to it by fiber-optic cables are placed.
The structure is placed on a truck. To solve the task at hand, the system launches from the truck and releases drones at the right place, which work as a single unit due to artificial intelligence.
"Cerberus" can be called a base for smaller drones. It is both power, brain and hangar for them. It is not just a flying frame, but a full-fledged control center. All UAVs are interconnected and interchangeable. If they work in pairs, one conducts reconnaissance with identification of targets, and the second one works on them with drops or, if absolutely necessary, goes on a ramming ram, undermining the target. The system can be used for reconnaissance and surveillance, attacks by dropping a warhead, targeting aircraft, firing thermal charges to deceive enemy missiles and working together with air defense," said Mikhail Klimchuk, general director of the KB Reanimator design bureau.
If desired, the operator can program the artificial intelligence to perform the task automatically. Then he only needs to observe the actions of the machine, and intervene in them only if necessary, said the developer.
