The number of debt sales in Russia has increased one and a half times

Over the past six months, the number of those willing to sell the right to claim debt has increased by 50%, market players told Izvestia.
"The 50% increase came after the cost of court fees went up. According to statistics, the split between individuals and legal entities that sell debts is 50/50," explained Ivan Rykov, founder of the marketplace "Debt.RF".
Since September 2024, the minimum court fee has reached Br4 thousand, before it was Br400. The maximum amount has increased 15 times, up to 900 thousand rubles.
"In addition, there are costs for lawyers, case support and possible court fees. That is why companies often prefer to sell their debt at a significant discount rather than spend years on litigation," stated Daniil Naimushin, a bankruptcy trustee and managing partner of the One to One law firm.
The surge of interest in the service for the sale of obligations is confirmed by the data of the service "Yandex Wordstat", which analyzes search queries on the Internet. According to them, from March to September 2024, the average request for the phrase "sell debt" was 29-30 thousand. And after the increase in court fees, this number increased in October and November to 35.3 thousand, in December reached almost 38 thousand, and in January 2025, although decreased, but slightly - to 36.5 thousand.
