The number of neurosurgical operations performed in Moscow hospitals has increased by almost a third in five years. This was reported by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in his Telegram-channel on Monday, February 3.
According to the official, only last year doctors performed about 21 thousand complex operations on patients with spinal cord and brain pathologies, as well as other diseases of the nervous system, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".
Sobyanin noted that medical care of neurosurgical profile is currently provided in 14 hospitals of the capital, notes the site aif.ru. In the arsenal of medics have navigation stations, 3D-microscopes, intraoperative computer and magnetic resonance tomographs, radiology units and other modern equipment, specifies NSN.
The mayor pointed out that a comprehensive approach to the modernization of the health care system has led to increased accessibility and efficiency of the most complex and in-demand areas of medical care, writes "Moscow 24".
In December, the Governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov said that in Odintsovo there is an overhaul of the hospital in Perkhushkovo. After its completion in 2026, a regional vascular center for 163 beds will be opened on the basis of the hospital, reports 360.ru. It will house departments of neurosurgery, neurology, neuro- and cardiac resuscitation, tomography rooms, five operating rooms.
