According to a study by First Street Technologies, more than 55 million Americans will move to areas of the U.S. less vulnerable to climate risks by 2055, starting with 5.2 million in 2025. This is reported on February 3 on the organization's website.

It is predicted that in the coming decades, dramatic climate change and rising property insurance prices in Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa, New Orleans and Sacramento will force residents of the United States to voluntarily move to other areas.

In addition, the report indicates that economic strength may not be enough to keep populations in areas facing climate change, as evidenced by projected "tipping points" in some growing metropolitan areas.

On January 24, current US President Donald Trump reported plans to sign an executive order reforming the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It is assumed that instead of it, response measures will be obliged to be implemented by the states.

The multiple wildfires in Los Angeles started on January 7. According to the latest data from CNN, 28 people died as a result, more than 16 thousand hectares were damaged. On January 14, the damage from raging fires in California was estimated at more than $250 billion.

The fire destroyed luxury mansions of Hollywood actors and celebrities, such as Anthony Hopkins, Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Eugene Levy, John Goodman, Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton. Many of these homes were worth millions of dollars.
