Guards Sergeant Putilov helped evacuate a wounded comrade

Guards Sergeant Alexander Putilov took part in the destruction of a drone and an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) as part of an artillery gun crew. On Tuesday, February 4, the Russian Defense Ministry told about the exploits of Russian servicemen in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).

The squad was ordered to destroy a camouflaged enemy BMP firing at Russian positions. When Putilov, following the commander's instructions, prepared ammunition and took the gunner's position, he noticed that an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was approaching the howitzer. The AFU attacked the Russian artillerymen's position, several servicemen were concussed and one of them was seriously wounded.

Putilov was also injured, but continued targeting the Ukrainian drone and shot it down. The artillerymen then aimed the gun at the coordinates of the enemy's BMP and struck. The vehicle was destroyed.

Meanwhile, an evacuation vehicle was waiting nearby. Putilov himself carried a wounded comrade into the vehicle.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the dedication and courage of Guards junior sergeant Vitaly Razumov, who carried out a combat mission to capture an AFU stronghold as part of an assault group.

The attackers were stealthily advancing to the target when Ukrainian intelligence discovered their location. Razumov quickly oriented himself and took a favorable firing position, immediately eliminating the AFU gunner, but was shot in the leg. Despite the injury, Razumov continued to engage the enemy and facilitated the assault group's entry into the flank of the AFU defenses.

As a result, the Russian attackers managed to break into the enemy trenches and eliminate three Ukrainian military personnel. The rest of the enemy personnel retreated, leaving the stronghold. Razumov together with his companions held the defense of the stronghold until reinforcements arrived.

Earlier, on February 3, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Private Anatoly Bondarenko was part of a unit carrying out a combat mission to defend occupied positions at an important tactical line. With the help of a drone, Bondarenko detected the covert movement of AFU troops' equipment in the direction of the Russian troops' positions and promptly transmitted the coordinates to artillery calculations.

Before that, on February 1, the Russian Armed Forces shot down the Ukrainian UAV "Baba Yaga" of the AFU army with the help of an FPV drone in the sky over Kharkiv region. The servicemen of the Russian group of troops "North" continue to destroy drones of the "Baba Yaga" type of the AFU in the special operation zone.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
