Traveler Fyodor Konyukhov's boat caught in a storm in the South Atlantic

Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov, who independently set off on a 200-day passage on a paddleboat "Akros" across the Atlantic and Indian oceans to Australia, got into the center of a storm with eight-meter waves. About it on February 3 reports the expedition headquarters of the navigator.
"On the night of February 4, the boat and Fedor will be in the epicenter of the storm. Already now various programs show the wind of 40 knots and a wave of 8 m at the point where the boat is," - said in Telegram-channel Konyukhov.
It is noted that the headquarters receives short messages from the traveler. He reports that the wave damaged the windsock and has to steer the boat blind. There is a spare part, but it can be installed only in good weather. According to the headquarters, at the moment it is impossible to go on deck, will wash overboard.
"The peak of the storm will remain for 15-17 hours. A large wave will persist for a couple more days," the publication reported.
