French prime minister says draft 2025 budget bypasses parliament


French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou during the National Assembly adopted the draft budget for the current year bypassing the vote of deputies. This was reported on February 3 by the French TV channel BFM TV.
"No country can live without a budget. For the first time since the founding of the Fifth Republic, our country is still without a budget. This will negatively affect the image of France," the channel quotes Bayrou as saying.
It is noted that article 49.3 of the constitution provides the possibility of adopting the budget without a vote of deputies.
According to the channel, on February 5, Wednesday, a meeting on a vote of no confidence in the Bayrou government will be held. However, it is noted that the number of necessary votes will most likely not be reached.
Earlier, January 30, Bloomberg reported that the economies of Germany and France continue to shrink due to declining confidence in the governments of the countries. According to the publication, France's GDP shrank by 0.1%. It is noted that in Paris the main problem is the budget crisis.
