Cultural heritage objects play an important role in the process of urban environment development. This conclusion was reached by the participants of the meeting of the project office of the Union of Russian Cities "Heritage and Cultural Identity" held in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the press service of DOM.RF.

Anton Finogenov, Director of Urban Environment Development of DOM.RF, pointed out that the restoration of OKN for modern social and public functions will allow Russian cities to significantly improve the attractiveness of their urban brand.

"When developing master plans and programs of integrated development, it is extremely important to take into account all factors related to the development and involvement of cultural heritage objects in economic turnover. This directly affects the potential for attracting private co-financing and the level of synergy from the implementation of projects in the field of improvement, engineering and transportation infrastructure. For many settlements, cultural heritage objects should become a resource that will allow to find new opportunities for economic and social development", - Anton Finogenov emphasized.

Today in Russia there are more than 157 thousand OKN, of which 17% are in unsatisfactory condition. By 2030 it is planned to put at least 1000 objects in order within the framework of the program for restoration of cultural heritage objects.

"Together with the regions, 24 objects of cultural heritage in federal ownership have been selected, which will be realized using the mechanisms of DOM.RF. The first 6 objects have already been put up for bidding, the rest will find an investor at the end of the first quarter. In general, to attract extra-budgetary funding for the restoration of cultural heritage objects, a program of preferential financing, the operator of which is DOM.RF," said Ekaterina Dobrodeeva, the head of the "State Programs in the housing sector" of DOM.RF.
