Representatives of the Democratic Party of the United States require from Robert Kennedy - Jr. to promise to refuse to make any decisions related to vaccines, in case of approval of his candidacy for the post of Secretary of Health. This was reported by ABC News on February 3.

"It's possible that Republican senators concerned about Kennedy's nomination, including Sen. Bill Cassidy, may use the Democrats' request to slow down the confirmation process," the publication said.

ABC News emphasized that the Democrats' request is not only because of previous statements by Kennedy, Jr. who spread false information about vaccinations during the pandemic, but also because of the nominee's plan to transfer his financial stake in the ongoing HPV vaccine lawsuit to his son.

Earlier, on January 29, U.S. Senators criticized the politician for his many false statements about vaccination during his confirmation hearing for Robert Kennedy, Jr. to be Secretary of Health. According to Senator Ron Wyden, he has made it his life's work to sow doubt and discourage parents from vaccinating their children.

On the same day, Caroline Kennedy, daughter of the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to Japan and Australia, wrote an open letter in which she criticized her cousin and urged not to let him become the head of the Ministry of Health. She emphasized that Kennedy Jr. discouraged many parents from vaccinating their children, while he himself continues to vaccinate his own.
