Sweden does not consider the damage to the underwater cable of the company "Latvian State Radio and Television Center" (LVRTC) in the Baltic Sea as sabotage. The press service of the state prosecutor's office said on February 3.

"The investigation now clearly shows that this is not sabotage. It has been established that a combination of weather conditions, equipment deficiencies and seamanship skills contributed to the cable breakage", - stated in the publication on the website.

In addition, Sweden lifted the arrest from the Vezhen vessel, which was suspected of breaking the cable.

Senior prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist from the National Security Unit specified that the preliminary investigation was systematic and thorough.

The Swedish Public Prosecutor's Office on Jan. 26 launched an investigation and detained a vessel suspected of sabotage after the LVRTC undersea cable broke in the Baltic Sea.

An undersea fiber-optic cable between Latvia and Sweden was damaged on January 26 in the Baltic Sea. It is noted that the company's monitoring systems recorded interruptions in data transmission on the section between Latvian Ventspils and Swedish Gotland.
