Russian Defense Ministry publishes footage of the destruction of an AFU assault unit in the DNR

On February 3, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the destruction of an assault group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) by the 20th Guards All-Union Army in the area of responsibility of the "West" group of forces in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

As specified in the agency, the drones detected armored vehicles with the AFU assault group in a forest belt, after which the artillery of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division targeted them. The surviving militants were later destroyed by drones.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry reported the destruction of a highway bridge and an AFU stronghold in the South Donetsk direction. The task artillerymen of the group "Vostok" with the help of self-propelled mortar "Tulpan".

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
