Phone scammers have deceived a minor Muscovite, forcing him to open his parents' safe and hand over more than 5.6 million rubles to them. This was reported by the source of "Izvestia" on February 3.

According to his data, on January 28, a 17-year-old boy received a call from "an employee of a cellular operator" and asked to provide the code from the SMS under the pretext of renewing the service contract. Shortly thereafter, calls were received from alleged employees of "Gosuslugi", Rosfinmonitoring and the Federal Security Service (FSB) with assurances of fraudulent actions against the young man. "Silovik" named Sergei demanded via video link to fix things in the apartment.

"During this video search, the "enforcer" asked about the cash in the apartment, to which the young man replied that there was a safe, but its exact location was unknown to him. Sergei ordered him to find the safe, which the young man did, but admitted that he did not know the code and where the key was. Then Sergei instructed him to find the key and find out the code to the safe," said the interlocutor.

In parallel, the victim was processed by "an employee of "Rosfinmonitoring" Evgeny, demanding to know passwords to the phone of his parents and to make a photofixation of bank cards. At this time, the "enforcer" said that it was time to open the safe and handed over the firm's contact. More than 1.5 million rubles, $30 thousand (about Br2.9 million) and more than €12 thousand (about Br1.2 million) were found in the safe. Eugene said that the money should be checked and asked the young man to hand over the cash to the courier - a gray-haired man of 60 years old, calling the code word "Titanic".

Later, on February 1, the young man received a phone call allegedly from a member of the prosecutor's office. The man said that not all the money had been checked, which made the young man's situation "worsen". The victim of deception at that moment was with a friend, who advised to turn to law enforcement officers.
