Tula resident awaits trial for tobacco trafficking worth 21 million rubles

A 59-year-old local resident accused of trafficking in tobacco products will stand trial in Tula. Products worth more than 21 million rubles were seized from him.
The investigation established that the man from September to October purchased about 168 packs of unlabeled tobacco products. First, he stored the tobacco in the garage, and then part of it was transported to a trade tent in order to sell it.
The illegal activity was stopped by law enforcers. Materials of the criminal case were sent to the court for further consideration, writes TSN24.
Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that in the Baltics is thriving production of counterfeit cigarettes, indistinguishable from the products of well-known Western brands. Ukrainians are attracted to the factories as cheap labor.
