The number of people poisoned by shawarma in the Perm region has risen to 73 people


The number of residents of Kungur, Perm region, who were poisoned by shawarma in the cafe Shaurma-kosmos, has grown to 73 people, including 25 children. This was reported in the press service of the regional Ministry of Health on February 3.
"To date, 73 people, including 25 children, with symptoms of poisoning have sought medical help," the ministry shared with TASS.
Of the total number of victims, 66 people, including 24 children, have been hospitalized. At the moment they are provided with the necessary medical care.
The source of "Izvestia" on January 31 reported that in Kungur 29 people poisoned in a local cafe. All the victims were in a state of average severity. The work of the institution was suspended, employees of Rospotrebnadzor began an inspection of the kitchen area of the cafe. Expert examinations were also appointed, the employees of the enterprise are being questioned.
Later in the regional Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported the detention of the owner of the institution Shaurma-kosmos. He was interrogated and will soon be charged. A criminal case was opened under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements") and part 1 of article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, resulting in negligence of mass disease or poisoning of people").
