In the morning, February 3, in the capital's housing estate "Scarlet Sails" in the district of Shchukino there was an explosion of an unidentified device. The tragedy unfolded in the hall of the apartment building, on the first floor of the building were broken doors and windows, the destruction of the suspended ceiling was recorded.

As a result of the emergency five people were injured, including the head of the Boxing Federation of the DNR, the founder of the volunteer battalion "Arbat" Armen Sargsyan and his guards. According to media reports, Sarkisyan was seriously injured. There is also information about one dead, but it has not yet been officially confirmed.

The concierge of the apartment building explained during the interrogation that the explosion occurred when a resident of the building with his guards entered the hall. It turned out to be Armen Sarkisyan.

Investigators and criminalists are now working at the scene of the accident, investigative actions and operational-search activities are being carried out. A medical helicopter and cynologists have arrived.

According to preliminary data, the explosion in the housing estate "Scarlet Sails" is a contract killing, law enforcement agencies report. On the fact of the incident, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case, but under what article it is initiated, it is not specified.

Who is Armen Sargsyan

Armen Sarkisyan, also known as Armen Gorlovsky is the head of the Boxing Federation of the DNR, the founder of the volunteer battalion "Arbat", which operated in the zone of the SSO. It is known that the 46-year-old Sarkisyan was involved in the training of the Russian military in Gorlovka. Previously he had Ukrainian citizenship.

According to Mash, among the injured is Sarkisyan's security guard Oleg Kasperovich. It is known that the 49-year-old Kasperovich is in the database "Peacemaker". Pro-Ukrainian channels threatened to kill him last July.

Now he is wanted in Ukraine, on December 4, 2024, Kiev charged Sarkisyan for participation in illegal armed groups fighting against the AFU.
