The former Minister of Transport and Roads of the Sverdlovsk region was sentenced in a bribery case. This was reported on February 3 by the Prosecutor's Office of the region.
It is specified that in September 2023 the ex-minister received a bribe in the amount of 4 million rubles from a person representing the interests of a construction company. The money was given for assistance in the conclusion of state contracts for the performance of work on the maintenance of highways and related artificial structures.
"In order to fulfill the agreements taken upon himself, the Minister gave at that time the head of the SCU "Management of highways", who was dependent on him in official dependence, a verbal instruction to conclude contracts with the specified company", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.
The ex-head of the Ministry of Transport was found guilty under part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receipt by an official personally of a bribe in the form of money, in a particularly large amount"). The court sentenced him to six years and six months of imprisonment, as well as a fine of 40 million rubles. He will serve his sentence in a strict regime colony.
Earlier, on January 30, in Serpukhov near Moscow, a former employee of the administration and three of his accomplices were detained on suspicion of corruption. According to investigators, from 2023 to 2024, the suspect periodically received bribes from individual entrepreneurs for accepting work from them under contracts with the MBU "Combinat of improvement" and for patronage during the execution of contracts. In total, he received at least 5 million rubles. In the near future, the detainees will be charged and a measure of restraint will be chosen.
