Operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Russian National Guard destroyed a 120-millimeter mortar of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk region. This was reported in the Federal Service of the Russian National Guard troops on February 3.

It is noted that the fighters discovered a camouflaged mortar during aerial reconnaissance in one of the districts of the Kursk region.

"The weapon was destroyed by an accurate hit of an impact drone," - said in the Telegram-channel of the Rosgvardiya.

Earlier, on January 31, the Federal Service of the Russian National Guard Troops reported that in the Kursk region the UAV operator destroyed a Ukrainian tank. It was specified that the drone hit provoked the detonation of the ammunition, due to which the enemy armored fighting vehicle together with the crew was destroyed.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
