In Moscow at the metro station "Mayakovskaya" held the first marriage ceremonies in 2025. This was reported on February 2 by Deputy Mayor for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.

According to her, on February 2 the capital's registries held the first in 2025 marriage ceremonies for three couples.

"Mayakovskaya metro station is very popular among those wishing to start a family, so this year we have increased the number of days for marriage ceremonies: couples can choose one of the nine available dates," Rakova was quoted as saying by the Moscow city news agency .

For the fifth season weddings at "Mayakovskaya" are held on significant and beautiful dates. In particular, ceremonies will be held here on March 23, May 25 and October 5.

Rakova noted that all slots for marriage registration at the metro station "Mayakovskaya" for 2025 are already occupied.

Last year, 23 new families were created at Mayakovskaya station. Since the opening of the site employees of the capital registries conducted 71 marriage ceremonies, writes "Moscow 24".

As Maxim Liksutov, the capital's Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry, noted, traditionally wedding ceremonies in the subway are held at night in order not to disturb passengers and to create a special atmosphere for newlyweds. The platform is decorated before the solemn registration, a wedding arch and a ring stand are installed. During the ceremony Mendelssohn's march sounds, two trains - "Moscow-2020" and the newest "Moscow-2024" - stand on the tracks. Newlyweds can arrange a photo session in them.
