Vilfand told about temperature forecasts for 2025

The current year 2025, according to preliminary forecasts of forecasters, may be among the five or three hottest on the planet. Roman Vilfand, scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, told RIA Novosti on February 3.
"Several forecasts were that this year will enter the top three or five of the hottest. One forecast was that even it will be in second place. But these are still such calculations, which remind me of the inflation forecast," he said.
Vilfand noted that now it is not worth taking this forecast seriously, as experts will refine it in the middle of the year.
Earlier, on February 2, Vilfand said that the Earth is currently experiencing the natural phenomenon of La Niña, which is associated with a decrease in water temperature in the equatorial part of the Pacific Ocean and affects weather conditions on almost the entire planet. According to the preliminary forecast, he noted, this phenomenon will not last long and will move to a neutral phase in April.
